My passion was, and still is, to use the talents and skills God gave me
About the founder & chief inventor / visionary of AWP, Ed Dyer…
I was born with the gift (and sometimes some would say a curse!) of believing I can improve just about everything I touch, whether it be a product or a process. I have been inventing and innovating all of my life both personally and professionally.
I don’t keep score anymore, but last time I checked I had recorded about 50 patents with the PTO, many of them included award winning ergonomic hand tools.
Being educated as a Product Development Engineer, my “day job” was in the private manufacturing sector for 48 years. My passion was, and still is, to use the talents and skills God gave me to design & develop the most innovative products in the world, with a personal mission of making the world a better place by helping those I touch be the best they can be.
While working for a major manufacturing company for 38 years, and retired in 2021, as the VP of Engineering, I wrote a number of articles to foster high performance business and inspire my business family friends to become the absolute best they can be.
For more information on my writings and life philosophy, see my LinkedIn page at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ed-dyer-2483a911/
With this mindset of innovative product development and manufacturing as a foundation, it is a natural inclination to innovate things I use every day.
A pen and pencil are two of them! Who doesn’t use a pen or pencil!
The Pen Development Story
It all started, in 2003, with thought of making the frequently used computer mouse into a writing instrument.
